Spanish teacher, Lima more than 2,000 classes taught Certified tutor

Stop studying Spanish and start living it. That is the whole idea, and it is why this site exists as well as the classes.

I am a Spanish teacher in Lima, and I have taught more than 2,000 one-to-one classes — children, university students, people who moved here for work, and corporate teams who needed to stop nodding along in meetings. What I do is close the gap between the textbook and the street. The grammar in a course book is not wrong; it is just not what you hear when a taxi driver asks you where you are going, or when somebody at a market calls you casera.

Every class is built around what you actually need to say. If you are preparing for the DELE, we work to the exam. If you have been living in Peru for six months and still freeze at the pharmacy, we work on that instead. I teach in Spanish as much as your level allows, from the first class — not because immersion is fashionable, but because the alternative is understanding the rule and still not being able to use it.

On Preply, where I have taught most of those classes, my students have rated me 4.9 out of 5 across 25 reviews, and I am in the top 10% of Spanish tutors on the platform.

Why this site

Everything in the lessons is free, and it is the material I actually use. I write it because the same questions come up in class every week — ser and estar, the two past tenses, whether to say tú or usted — and a page answers them better than I can in the first ten minutes of a lesson. Each one has a quiz so you can find out whether you actually have it.

If something here helps and you want to go further, that is what the classes are for.
